Gary grew up in Montana where he hiked, camped, skied, canoed and fished the Big Sky country while living in Kalispell and later, in Missoula. While attending the University of Montana he developed a passion for photography. After three years of organic and inorganic chemistry, physics, biology and other science courses, he left U of M, moved to Seattle and enrolled in a commercial photography school. He met Holly in the photo school. She had recently moved back to Seattle from Hawaii to pursue photography. Upon discovering their mutual kinship with mountains they started adventuring together. After finishing school, Holly went on to Pasadena, CA. where she received her BA in photography from the Art Center School of Design. Gary stayed in Seattle and worked for a famous location photographer as an assistant traveling all over the world on huge advertising campaigns. Gary not only learned the business of big productions, but was given the opportunity to shoot in excess of 10,000 rolls of film on a second camera position for these shoots throughout Africa, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and the USA. Holly went to work for an outdoor recreational company, REI, for 15 years as a location and studio photographer. They sent her to Peru for a trip on the Amazon River to take pictures for them, then on to Chile to shoot in Patagonia. She traveled to Greece on assignment for them, as well as all over the West.

Gary and Holly have thousands of stock images on file and they shoot stock throughout the year to keep fresh images coming in to the ever expanding files.

They live in Seattle with their two boys, 15 and 13 years old.
